wow looks like im going to cancel my london appointment and get james to fix me up.i would need more details from him tho.the 9 hour package in london cant all be done in 1 go can it or do they spread that over 9 weeks.i dont think i trust them after reading the thread above.
live1 - I think you have got the wrong end of the stick.
The London electrologist who people have recommended you to is the same one who I have had all the treatment in my signature from and am still seeing.
She is VERY good but she is limited by her old technology meaning that she cannot treat as fast as James and with as little skin trauma (note; this does not imply skin damage!!). Because of James’ equipment (and skill) he can treat one area for hours. Electrologists like Sharon, need to be careful not to overtreat, so they would not do more than a certain amount at one time. I think one could easily go to her 3 times a week for an hour each time. But after 3 weeks your 9 hour package would have finished and if she was mainly using Blend, the number of hairs removed per hour would be nowhere close to James’ count and you would probably not be close to clearance.
I worked on small areas at a time with Blend and sometimes combo Blend and Thermolysis. My eyebrows, my sideburns, my upper lip - such a huge visible difference! She is also close to my work, which is convenient for me, whereas my sister has a 3hour round trip to see her.
My sister needs a lot of work over her entire face and neck. It is more worth our time and money to see James a few times but after this, we will still continue the remainder of treatment with our local electrologist!! But hopefully it will be reduced to an amount she can cope with, with my sister only needing 1 trip every few weeks!
well i have a beard that grows to my eyes its so thick and covers all my face .so if sharon could only do 3 hours 3 times a week for 500 pounds ,that would not help as the regrowth will be patchy.james says i need my whole beard removed in 1 go .so when my beard grows back ill have a nice even thinner beard and im done. ps i like my beard just needs to be a bit thinner .know wot i mean.
so what should i do? save up to see james or pay 500 and see sharon .ive already got the 500
You have the money or you already bought the 9hour package?
I would advise you to see James because of the amount of hair that needs to be tackled and yes… because you want thinning, it would be better to get it cleared in 1 go (whether this is 1 day or over 1 week). So yes, save up. Flights to Buffalo, NY are about £350 if you choose the right time.
This is why I initially made the suggestion that you would be better off visiting someone of James’ calibre.
Not because other electrologists in the UK cannot offer “good” treatment… it’s just not on the same level in terms of speed.
This is the Parkside thread, where you can see we are all very happy with the treatment. This includes max1970, who had some very bad experiences with other electrologists.

This is where I update about my treatment and my sister’s:

no i haven’t paid .my consoltation is next tue.i just dont know what to do for my case.thanks for the links
im going to ask her to do 1 full clearance over a few days ,that wont leave me patchy will it?
I don’t think it would leave you patchy.
Maybe James or Dee can give more insight as to why.
However, I don’t think she could do full clearance over a few days. She’s using old tech means you cannot have too much treatment in one go. It will cause skin trauma (even if it’s not apparent) that you need to give your a few days to recover.
She would not take the risk of treating too much at one time.
ill ask if she can get the full clearance over a few days to avoid patchy regrowth if not ill have to go america ,i dont have a passport? ill have to look into that too
I think it’s a good idea to have the consult. It’s free and you get a sample of treatment. You don’t need to sign up to a course or anything.
You can ask her how she would go about giving you the end result you want. Even if you don’t have further treatment from her, this sort of knowledge is very valuable in understanding electrolysis in my opinion.
Getting a passport, saving money, it should all be achievable. Yeh okay, you can’t start treatment straight away but you are working towards a bigger goal.
As a rule of thumb, blend is about 2-3 times slower than fast thermolysis.
BTW: 10 hairs per minute is equivalent to 6 s per hair - roughly the peak rate achievable by blend if the client’s skin and pain tolerance permits this (peak means usually slower). I have successfully done such treatments, but meanwhile i am also moving toward fast thermolysis. It is even more efficient and less risky.
inddeed ill go on tue ,i just hope she can do the clearance qwickly.but she may have another way to evenly thin it out ,we wont know until my appointment .ill keep every1 updated
Yes - she may well have her own technique for this that is suited to her equipment etc. I know she has male clients.
Personally, I trust her suggestions having gotten to know her well over the past 2 years.
I just imagine it would requite a substantial time and monetary effort from your end as well.
ive sent james a bunch of pics aswell
Even the fastest electrologist with the best equipment won’t be able to clear your face in one sitting if you have that much hair. You don’t need to worry about patchiness if you’re getting it removed within a month or so. Hair cycles on the face last about that long.
cheers la for that .good to know i get a month to clear.mabee sharon would be able to do that
Not in one sitting but maybe over a few days.
Compare this to very old machines with basic thermolysis settings and an electrologist who will likely use a lot of Blend and not doing more than an hour or two at a time, with a few days break after each session (if not more, if the skin needs it) and we are talking many, many hours over weeks if not months and at a huge cost.
Live - let’s say you are happy with the consult, you can always start with Sharon and then how you feel later down the line.
This is what happened with my sister. We started in a positive spirit but it was only after starting and seeing how much progress is can actually be made in a 1 hour session (not much) that we decided it would be a better use of time and money to go abroad for treatment. She’s studying at uni and has better things to do with her time than spending 4 hours + every weekend travelling to and having electrolysis.
Whatever is left of the package, I’m sure will come in handy later down the line when there is less hair to deal with - or she can use it on other parts of the body.
well if she cant do massive sessions ill have to get james to help me.need to find his price
You shouldn’t need “massive sessions”. You should be able to do a clearance with her within a month.
LAgirl - how many hours (total, within 1 month) do you it would take to get clearance of this kind of beard? Bearing in mind it will either be Blend (6-7hairs a min with this electrologist) or a combination of Thermolysis and Blend (maybe 10 hairs/min).
The machine is not an Apilus or any kind of modern tech, so one does not get the advantage of being ‘kinder’ to the skin. After each session, there would need to be a break of a few days at least to let the skin recover from treatment.
