Electrolysis

session 24 two days ago - half an hour on face and neck. therapist tweeked the machine so no problems this time. had hairs removed from sides of face, chin, upper and lower lip with thermolysis.
also did about 15 min or so on belly area. we have decided not to do full clearence on belly but just to make area look more naturel as I have fine hair all over, but could do with more hairs being removed so need to book in again - think an obsession for as much hair removal on belly may happen!!

session 25 of half an hour on neck and 10 mins on side of face. Only had a short session as my therapist couldnt do the full hour due to personal reasons. need to go back and get full clearence. I asked her to concentrate on neck cos that area was the worst. sides of face had a few long hairs. keep you posted.
night!

So you are pulling close to the year mark for your facial electrolysis. You are on target. Thanks for that information in your signature.

thanks dee, yeah doing ok but wish it was better! defo need to go every three to four weeks for face still. I keep telling myself another six months and I should be nearly there! going on wednesday for another session and cant wait to get rid of those hairs that have come through!

session 26 had a 45 minute session of electrolysis on Wednesday. A few marks left nothing major! She did sides of face, chin and neck. going back in two weeks. defo need a few hairs removing from upper and lower lip.

Update - session 27 with 45 minute session - on face and belly, she prob did about 20 mins on face and rest on belly last week.

session 28 - on monday went back to finish treatment on face did near 35 minutes with thermolysis.

session 29 - had 15 minutes done on face (sides of face, neck area), then spent half an hour on belly but only removed enough hairs on belly to make area look more natural.

can anyone tell me that when removing hair by electrolysis that it might trigger new growth to start nearby. I have had treatment on my neck area I would say for about 11 months now and all of a sudden I have some course hairs appear on side of neck. I was quite shocked cos at this stage in my treatment I finally feel like I am getting somewhere, so why the courser hairs appeared. Also a couple of ingrown ones have appeared under neck. Quite sure not hormonal as I had a test done over a year ago. comments most appreciated and going for my 30 session tomorrow. thanks

Electrolysis stimulating hair growth in a nearby area has not been observed or reported in over the century and a half since electrolysis has been used, worldwide. It has been theorized that maybe it could happen, but we have not seen a steady complaint list that this may be happening to people, as we do with our laser consumers. Maybe those coarse hairs you are seeing are programed to come alive at this time of year. How many hairs have you observed? Do you see the hairs on both sides of your neck? Can you show us a picture? The small electrical current(s) used for damaging tissue that causes a hair to grow most likely could not stimulate hair to grow nearby. Has a laser ever been used for another area near the side of your neck???

thanks for your feedback dee - like you say maybe they were just due to come through. will see how it goes. generally hair on face is doing quite well since I been having a years treatment now. Feel like I am over half way there but just shocked that a few dark ones appeared on my neck - no laser been in that area for well over a year. thanks

session 30 - 50 minutes of electrolysis (thermolysis) on my face, neck, upper and lower lip. and then spent final 10 mins on lower belly area. going back in three weeks time. see what hairs come through by then on my neck. does 30 hours seem a lot for someone to be going in for just over a year on face and neck. There was a time I needed to go every week but now every 3-4 weeks. anyway keep you posted on my treatment.
night

Last week had session 31 on face for one hour. My therapist did thermolysis on face (sides of face, upper and lower lip), but did blend on neck area as the hairs seem to be worse there at the moment. Going back in a week and half

Leo,

I forget, did you post a before picture?

No it doesn’t seem like a lot. You should probably consider yourself lucky if that’s all you need.

Alicia

Hi Alicia going back every three weeks does seem a lot to me even after a year, at this stage I was hoping to be going maybe once every six weeks. Never did post a photo Dee but I did take some so I can compare myself… I just not sure how to upload on photobucket (not very technical). Seen best results on sides of face and upper lip. My neck seems to be getting hairy again so thats why we’ve opted for Blend method to see how the treatment goes. Did have tests done at doctors about a year and half ago and hormones were normal - so not sure if its an age thing or again if it was just the laser that triggered that hair but not had a laser go near my face for nearly two years now. Keep you posted on my progress

If you email me the picture at ExecutiveClearance at Gmail dot com, I will post it for you here.

thanks james I will send over a file shortly. I have included some recent shots as well (taken yesterday) and also some of my legs before I started laser treatment. Havent done any after shots of legs but I am happy with my results and if people want to see results I can add photos at a later stage. Thanks for your help

a question for Dee or James
With electrolysis if I feel a slight pull on say one hair out of every six is that bad? The pull I feel very slight does this mean the hair has been plucked out? Should I feel nothing at all? Surely a therapist treating the client will know if the hair is slightly pulling or not? Wondering now if some of the hairs being treated are being slightly undertreated.
comments most appreciated. thanks

Simple orientation test. Grasp a hair, and rip it out. Now when you stop cursing me for telling you to do that, you will know what a true pluck feels like. Anything short of that is what we call traction , or possibly a “Popping Sensation” or “Pop”. This happens when the bulb is larger than the shaft it is being pulled out of. It is similar to the core of a zit breaking through the skin.

Although sometimes a sensation during removal of the hair denotes that some portion of the bulb sheath did not get fully treated (in which case the hair would grow back finer and weaker next year) many times it is just the pop of the large bulb when the worker has not upped the treatment energy higher in order to blast a hole large enough for the fat bulb to come out of, or liquefy the sheath, leaving a limp melted/burned hair to take out.

Ok I am feeling the ‘popping sensation’ as you call it. So on some of the hairs my therapist could up the energy so that I get a better treatment?
Did you receive the photos I e-mailed you James?
thanks for your help
