Apparently, many electrologists refuse to perform long and intense sessions in their customers for reasons that I and some of my colleagues can not understand.
This refusal may have contributed to the appearance in the media that Electrolysis is suitable only for small areas. I have often asked myself, why this statement? if used for small areas why not for large areas? now I understand, we are the sole responsible of the limitations that the “experts” in other permanent methods have been awarded to the Electrolysis. There are great benefits to the customer if you receive this type of treatment, but perhaps the most important is the economic motivation. Taking advantage of a long and costly journey is possible if you are able to endure marathon sessions. If they are able, why not you?
As for us, electrologists, I am less stressed with the pressure of a single client per day than 10 or 15 clients pressing because there is a waiting husband, or child to take her English class, or a friend for lunch.
I totally agree that longer sessions are less stressful. The most anxiety inducing scenario for me is when clients are late for very short appointments. In fact I now limit how many short time bookings I take each day. Josefa, how often do you take breaks during marathon sessions?
With the Apilus Platinum, as you know ladies, it is easier for both client and practitioner to go on and on and on and on. I do what people need or want, quick or long sessions, but I like the longer sessions better. It is most satisfying to knock out a lot of hair quickly. Watching Judge Mathis, or in my case, listening to Judge Mathis or The History Channel makes it even more enjoyable and easy to eliminate hair because the time passes even quicker with pleasant distractions.
Nobody asked me, but at best, I take breaks every 90 minutes, at worst, every 4 hours. (Who am I kidding, I have worked 6 hours non-stop on one person sometimes)
Breaks in marathon sessions. It depends.
Yesterday i did 4 1/2 hours on three clients - the last being a small treatment - almost without breaks, especially two long and intense facial treatments. I usually take breaks after 90-120 minutes. The latter is the preferred schedule in the three hour sessions i like most (usually the client needs the break), and the 90 min intervals to cover really long sessions. Of course i avoid any breaks if the client falls asleep.
Hi Christine, clients who have booked a full day often need a little break from 10 to 15 minutes after each hour. Sometimes I use these minutes to work on someone who needs a 10-minute session, so no rest for me. Fortunately, most of the time the break of the client allows me to stretch my legs and take, of course, another cup of coffee.
Mission accomplished!
End of the first clearance in the stomach and belly of this brave client. I followed his instructions and I reversed the pattern of growth such as my client wants (Spaniard is a huge fan of Bono’s advice). The area will look quite natural when the entire healing process is over.
3 last days have been hard (for both), We have managed to make the third clearance in much of the two arms, the second clearance in both hands, refine some edges of one arm.
First clearance in a large area of the leg.
Complete the first clearance in the stomach and abdomen. 6 or 7 hairs between the eyebrows and a tip, we have removed a couple of skin tags on the belly.
That said, the marathon sessions are hard but worth the effort. Someday I’ll be trained to be your height, my dear James Walker.
6 hours the first day plus one hour in June or July (I can not remember) was a patch test to calculate the area that could be done in a one-hour session. Total 7 hours.
Josefa, I would LOVE to send you a bag of my favorite Community Coffee from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Unfortunately, it seems the authorities are fond of confiscating coffee from international shipments. Your electrolysis efforts are outstanding, as are your results. Thank you and your clients very much for taking and sharing clear photographs illustrating your excellent work.
Mairi, so true. Just finished a 2.5 hour appointment on a young woman’s abdomen, using a Laurier probe, and I had the best time ever! She is almost totally clear from sternum to pelvic bone and it is satisfying to see the hair gone for me as much as it is for her. I used PicoFlash with the Apilus Platinum, in the Bikini program and she was very comfortable. She actually had her eyes closed most of the time, with her arms raised above her head looking very peaceful. Insertion count was close to 2,000 thanks to the auto sensor mode. I set the timing at .04. Modern electrolysis care is not as slow as everybody thinks it is. For sure it is permanent and perfect for abdominal hairs that are thin and long or fat and dark.
Jossie, you are the Roadrunner of electrologists. I am so proud of what you can do and every time I peel a potato, I think about how you just “peel” back the hair on a very hairy leg revealing the lovely skin underneath. YA!
Dee, I am so glad to hear that you are using the Laurier probe. I hope you are enjoying using it as much as myself and my sister are enjoying being treated with it at the moment.
It is a very nice probe. I was just saying to Mike Roy in a private message that I plan to try the Laurier on one side of one of my abdominal cases and then try the Pro-Tech on the other side with a willing client of course. I’m not real techy with my camera skills, but I will try to capture something. Jossie, my friend come see me!
A willing volunteer? raises hand alas I’m in south carolina- a bit far- but going distances is worth the effort. I really really want a Star Trek transporter so I can visit some of the professionals here to try their work out…
